Field Support Engineer (Lead)
Lead on-site technical support initiatives and mentor junior team members while delivering exceptional client experiences at client locations across Brisbane. You'll be the face of CRADAL in the field, building strong relationships with our clients.
As a Lead Field Support Engineer at CRADAL, you'll be responsible for leading on-site technical support initiatives across Brisbane and surrounding areas. You'll work directly with clients at their locations, providing hands-on technical support and building lasting relationships.
This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior field engineers, lead complex on-site projects, and be the primary technical contact for our Brisbane-based clients.
What You'll Do
- Lead on-site technical support visits to client locations
- Mentor and guide junior field support engineers
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and network issues
- Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Document technical solutions and best practices
- Work with (and lead components of) Project Delivery teams
Essential Skills
- 3+ years experience in technical support or field engineering
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
- Advanced networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Solid familiarity with PowerShell and scripting in general
- SOE / MDM administration & troubleshooting
- Specific experience with MSFT Conditional Access
- Experience with racks & comm cabinet rebuilds
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with server hardware and virtualization
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Experience with network security and firewalls
- Previous mentoring or team leadership experience
- Industry certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco)
- SOE / MDM design & implementation
- Firewall experience & vendor qualifications
- Customer service escalation training
- Cable run / tech fit-out experience
We're looking for a field engineer who can lead on-site initiatives and build strong client relationships in Brisbane.
You'll lead our field support operations in Brisbane, working with a small team of field engineers and collaborating with our remote support team.
This role is based in Brisbane with regular travel to client sites across the greater Brisbane area.
